Members of Tarlac State University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (TSU-DRRMC) held a meeting earlier today (March 1) to discuss the necessary adjustments to the institutional health and safety protocols for the upcoming conduct of limited face-to-face classes and reopening of onsite transactions under Alert Level 1.
Said adjustment is due to the recently implemented alert level systems for COVID-19 response across Central Luzon last February 27, 2022 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) where Tarlac Province is lowered to Alert Level 1 from March 1-15, 2022.
The adjusted institutional protocols, which will be released tomorrow, will include guidelines for the conduct of limited face-to-face classes for laboratory courses of the BS Nursing program and selected programs under the College of Engineering and Technology.
Protocols for onsite transactions with the university’s libraries, cashier, Admission and Registration Office, as well as guidelines for students who are planning to hold trainings for sports and cultural activities, among others, will also be included.
The updated guidelines are anchored on the minimum public health standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) and recommendations from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the IATF.
According to the TSU-DRRMC, the university issues additional internal protocols on top of the guidelines for areas under Alert Level 1 to ensure the TSU community’s safety.
The adjusted protocols will also feature internal guidelines for the different alert level systems in case the province’s alert level escalates.
The university's initial institutional health and safety protocols for limited face-to-face classes was internally released last February 2, 2022 via e-DMS (Electronic Document Management System).
